VCU Potatoes

Potatoes have not been included in the recommended list for agricultural crops since 2007. As growers are still keen to know the results of the Value for Cultivation and Use testing (VCU), these results are published here.

The VCU potatoes consists of:

  • yield tests (including early maturity and cooking type).
  • virus testing to determine resistance to YN and X virus.
  • resistance testing for Phytophthora, potato cyst nematodes and black scab.
  • determination of the glycoalkaloid content (SGA).

The results of the VCU potatoes (pdf, 91KB, Dutch) contains the varieties listed on the Recommended list for agricultural crops in 2007, with the addition of varieties which have been included in the National list and/or European Common Catalogue since 2007.
